Production Updates for Bell Tailwheel Fork

We are excited to announce that Flyboy Accessories will be working with the Doug Bell family to resume production of Doug’s popular tailwheel design. We are in the process of taking over production of the forks, and we’re working our hardest to nail down a production timeline.
We will do our best to update this blog post with any production updates that we have. Please check back in periodically for information and the most up-to-date information.
We would like to extend a special thanks to the Bell family for the opportunity to license production of such a great product.

We are now in full-scale production of the Doug Bell fork. We have a sizable waiting list that we are working to get through as quickly as we can.  If you would like a Bell Fork, make sure to add your name to our no-obligation form below. List members will receive an email when forks are available to their section of the list (we offer available forks to customers in the order that they signed up for the list) with instructions for purchasing.

We’re making shafts currently, making jigs to bend the forks, and working through the time-consuming start up process. We’re getting closer to actual production, but still don’t have an actual timeline nailed down for production forks.

Posted 6 October 2014: We received the original jigs and other production-related pieces from Doug Bell’s shop. Now that we have that, we can start to move forward sourcing the different pieces of the fork. Already, we have some of the shafts in process with our machinist. We are still not able to give a definite timeline for completed forks rolling off the line, but we are in a position to hit the ground running.

We were originally hoping for a 2-month timeline on production of the forks. We are in the process tooling up for production. We’re a little behind our original schedule, but we are working with the Bell family to get the technology transfer completed as quickly as we can, so we can get forks into full-scale production. At this time, we can’t give any definite timelines for production. We are working as fast as we can to get the first batch of forks out to our customers.
Please feel free to contact us at any time with questions regarding production.
